Cane and Silk
Cis
At Cane and Silk I am offering a series of fiberglass rods. They are constructed from "E glass" or electrical glass which is spiral wound over a specifically tapered mandrel. These rods have superior strength and flexability while at the same time not feeling overly heavy in the hand. Currently I am offering several lengths and line weights which cover all light to medium freshwater fishing conditions. These are some of the finest casting fiberglass rods that I have ever built. All rods have a moderate action with mid/tip flex which enables higher line speeds as compared to older glass rods of the 70's era but at the same time they are still considerably softer than most graphite rods which allows delicate presentations and protects fine tippets.
I am offering two styles of rod builds, both are very affordable for a custom built fly rod. The only difference in them is the grade of the components such as guides and reel seats. The addition of higher grade components does not make them fish any better but gives a different not necessarily better visual appearance.
"Standard build" which includes, rod grip in AA or AAA cork in either half wells, reversed half wells or cigar configurations. reel seat choices which are listed under the fiberglass components page, standard snake guides in either chrome or black with matching tip top, winding check and hook keeper. ceramic, traditional ring or standard agate stripping guide in matching frame. Thread wrap of your choice with accent color at the hook keeper and ferrules, light build epoxy finish
Rod price: $159.99
"Eminence build" which includes, rod grip hand turned from cork rings I import from Portugal. Lemke LC 15 reel seat, Snake brand or Perfection guides in either chrome or black nickel with matching tip top, winding check and hook keeper. Traditional ring or high quality agate stripping guide in matching frame. Thread wrap of your choice with accent color at the hook keeper and ferrules, light build epoxy finish
Rod price: $219.99

Hidden water series
All rods in this series are 2pc wtih spigot ferrules. These short rods are really a joy to fish with from panfish on a dry fly to tiny mountain stream natives, that is the sole purpose for me making this style of rod, they excel on narrow brush covered streams were casting is difficult with a longer rod, still in open areas the 2/3 wt rods will cast 40+ ft with the 3wt and even farther with the 5/6wt depending on experience level.

5'0" 2/3 wt
4'10" 2/3 wt
